A NATIONWIDE WEEK OF CODING TO CELEBRATE THE 125TH ANNIVERSARY OF WOMEN’S SUFFRAGE IN AOTEAROA AND THE GIRLS, WOMEN, AND NON-BINARY PEOPLE WHO WRITE OUT AMAZING CODE.

How people took part

2018 marked the 125th anniversary of women’s suffrage in Aotearoa which made TechweekNZ 2018 the perfect time to celebrate the girls, women, and non-binary coders who write much of our code. Our aim was to get as many girls, women and non-binary people coding as possible (even if they'd never coded before) and to share stories of our amazing coders. In the end, over 5000 people took part in the online event and at the in-person She Can Code event in Christchurch!
